Sophia Lovella — Jewelry Designer & Co-Owner, Raska International
Born to a Scottish and Ethiopian heritage, Sophia Lovella’s trajectory in design was shaped from early childhood. Raised by an entrepreneurial mother who worked in fashion design for years before opening their family restaurant, Sophia grew up immersed in the world of fashion, garment construction, textiles, and form.
This foundation naturally transitioned into her love for design, fashion and ultimately being selected into the modeling landscape. Hand-selected as a semi-finalist during the selection rounds of America’s Next Top Model and placing as a Top 7 finalist in the Miss Colorado organization, Sophia entered the industry at eighteen. Her modeling career included periods in key style capitals like New York and London.
Having spent significant parts of her upbringing living overseas, including formative years in Kenya and as an adult in New Zealand, Sophia drew deeply from a multi-cultural perspective.
Her international background and lifelong exposure to creative mediums and design eventually translated into a deep affinity for the three-dimensional art of fine jewelry.
Today, she channels that distinct perspective into her role as the lead designer and founder of Amora Adera, a house creating heirloom fine jewelry inspired by ancient symbols of the Nile Valley & Sub-Saharan Africa. Concurrently, she supports her family's entrepreneurial legacy as a co-owner managing operations at Raska International.
